Built on Experience, Driven by Purpose
About Mitch
At his core, Mitch is a teacher. Whether working with people or dogs, his focus has always been the same: helping others learn, build skill, and gain confidence.
Before becoming a professional dog trainer, Mitch spent 15 years as a ballroom and latin dancer and instructor, helping hundreds of students develop technique, trust, and self-assurance. His students consistently ranked him among the top 10% of instructors in the United States. He earned multiple podium finishes in international competition and, in 2010, won a World Championship in Germany.
Mitch brings the experience, teaching skills, and achievements from his years as a successful instructor to his work as a dog trainer every day. His ability to teach, communicate clearly, and understand how people learn gives him a unique perspective that shapes the way he works with both dogs and their owners.
Mitch’s approach to dog training is grounded in both experience and education. With a degree from Colorado State University and a strong foundation in the psychology of learning and behavior, he brings a thoughtful, individualized approach to every dog and handler team.
Built on Experience, Driven by Purpose
His path into dog training developed naturally. Family and friends relied on him for help with their dogs long before it became his profession. Training his own service dogs, first Clark and later Abari, solidified his decision to pursue this work. Seeing firsthand the freedom, confidence, and independence that a well-trained dog can provide, he committed to the field full-time.
Mitch began training Clark in 2008 and has been a full-time professional dog trainer since 2022, working with thousands of dogs. While service dogs hold a special place in his heart, he brings the same care, skill, and commitment to each dog he trains. He believes every dog has the potential to change a life.
Mitch’s work is grounded in his love for family, dogs, and teaching. That combination is what makes his approach so meaningful, and why clients trust him to guide both them and their dogs with patience, clarity, and heart.
